Miriam Garcia, DA

Head Surgical Assistant and Patient Care Coordinator

Dental Assistant (DA) and Translator

Very early in her dental career, Miriam specialized as a surgical assistant, and she contains a wealth of knowledge regarding treatment plans and procedures.  With over a decade of surgical and periodontal assisting experience, Miriam joined Dr. Temlock’s staff at San Francisco Periodontics and Implant Dentistry (SFPID) after working with Dr. Temlock for several years at other satellite office locations.  She is an integral member of our treatment team, and she is extremely involved in patient treatment every step along the way (from obtaining digital x-rays and cone-beam cat scans to assisting in surgical procedures!)  As a safety precaution for all patients, she maintains and updates her Basic Life Support (BLS) certification regularly. She also recently completed her training in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and she continues to participate in continuing education programs to stay on top of the current surgical and sedation trends.  On top of her extensive assisting experience, Miriam is also fluent in Spanish, and she utilizes these skills as the office translator in times of need!

Miriam was born in the Deep South (Mexico!), but she was raised here in California.  Now, Miriam lives in the East Bay with her husband and three children (who are just the cutest!).  She enjoys spending time with her family when she finishes up her long days caring for patients at San Francisco Periodontics and Implant Dentistry.  She is a woman of many incredible traits and a modern day Wonder Woman with all the things she is able to juggle within a day.

Christine Penhallurick, RDA

Surgical Assistant

Registered Dental Assistant

Christine’s dental experience in both restorative and surgical settings helps our patients understand the link between their surgical, periodontal, and dental implant treatment plans with their general dentist’s role.  She continues to maintain her Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and participate in continuing education programs in general dentistry and surgical settings.

Christine has a diverse background in dentistry, and she is currently studying and applying to become a dental hygienist.  She hopes to use her past and current experience as a dental and surgical assistant as a springboard for success treating patients on her own in the future.

Christine was born in Dubai, but she was raised in San Francisco.  She now lives in the East Bay, and she loves spending time with her family and going on adventures in her personal time!
